SmartIPTV for iPhone and iPad
Effective date: October 12, 2026

Hien Nguyen / Banana Team (“we”) develops and publishes SmartIPTV. This policy covers the app, version 0.7 and later, and these support pages. SmartIPTV is a media player for IPTV playlists that you add yourself. It does not include any channels, playlists or content, and you do not need an account. We do not run a server for the app, so we never receive your playlists, logins or viewing history.

1. Information stored on your device

To work, SmartIPTV keeps the following on your device:

Device backups may include this information, depending on your settings. SmartIPTV does not sync it between devices.

2. Connections to the sources you add

SmartIPTV connects only to the servers and links in the playlists and guides you add. It uses them to load channel lists and guides, play streams, replay archived programs (catch-up) and show channel logos and artwork. When daily refresh is on, it also updates playlists and guides in the background. Logins and custom headers are sent only to the server they belong to.

These servers belong to your provider or to the source you chose. They receive your IP address and the requests needed to play, under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not see this traffic, and we are not responsible for the content or practices of those sources. If a film has a trailer, Trailer opens it on YouTube, which follows Google’s Privacy Policy.

3. Permissions and Apple services

You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings → SmartIPTV. See the Apple Privacy Policy.

4. No analytics, advertising or tracking

SmartIPTV contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. It does not track you across apps or websites and does not ask for permission to track. The open-source components inside the app, VLCKit (which plays TS, MKV and other formats) and GRDB (the database on your device), do not send information to their developers.

If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your Apple device settings, Apple may provide us with crash reports and aggregated usage information. You can change this in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

5. Support and this website

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and any attachments you choose to send, and we use them to respond. Please do not send passwords, or playlist links that contain your username and password. These pages are hosted by Cloudflare, which processes request information such as IP address and browser details to deliver and protect the website. These SmartIPTV pages do not include advertising or analytics scripts. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.

6. Sharing, storage and retention

We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not receive the information stored in the app. That information stays on your device until you delete it in the app (for example a playlist, a profile or a recording) or delete the app. Deleting the app may not remove device backups. Support emails are kept as long as needed to resolve your request and to meet legal or record-keeping obligations. Email may be processed outside your country by our email provider. We use reasonable safeguards but cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

The information in the app is processed on your device, for you; we do not collect it. For support emails, we rely on our legitimate interests in answering your request and keeping these pages secure, and on legal obligations when we must keep records or respond to lawful requests. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests.

8. Your choices and rights

You can delete playlists, profiles, reminders and recordings in the app, turn off notifications or microphone access in iOS Settings, and delete the app to remove its data from your device. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, or to restrict or object to certain processing. Because we do not receive the information stored in the app, these rights mainly concern the emails you send us: contact contact@hiennv.dev. You may also contact your local data protection authority.

9. U.S. state privacy rights

We do not sell personal information, do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising and do not use it for targeted advertising. If you live in a U.S. state with a consumer privacy law, such as California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut or Texas, you may ask what we hold about you or request deletion of the support emails you have sent, at contact@hiennv.dev. An authorized agent may contact us where the law allows. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.

10. Children

SmartIPTV is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Kids profiles and the parental PIN let parents hide or lock categories on the device, and parents can also use Apple’s Screen Time. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the app changes. The current version and its effective date will appear on this page. For privacy questions, contact Hien Nguyen / Banana Team at contact@hiennv.dev.
